Have some Winchester Silvertip HPs in the ammo pile. It does (hammer) bite the hand that feeds it quite often. "I've been up early my whole life, and all that ever did was increase the amount of time during the day something could go wrong." This kind of thing will drive you nuts unless you are patient, but if you persist it may give you something to do over a long winter. If you find that a certain type of ball doesn't work, I might suggest that you then try another type of ball that is either heavier or lighter. I hope that YOURS is one of the reliable ones. I would suspect that any type of ball ammo would work the same as any other ball ammo in your Walther. This pistol really needs to die off, but Adolph Hitler and James Bond have kept it in production well past its freshness date. When I asked how they could be "great guns" if they did not work, they had no answer. When pressed, they all admitted that their Walthers were not reliable and never had been. They said they carried them because "They are great guns, everybody knows that!". I have many friends who have carried Walthers as off duty and/or backup guns. I have heard rumors of some PPKs that worked, but I've never seen one that worked in either.
I don't know how Walthers got to be so popular. There are those who wonder What The Heck happened! Pick one. I've never seen a PPK that liked anything with great reliability, but you might try the Federal Classic 71 grain FMJ, or if it's loaded in their American Eagle line try that. "The greatest thing a Father can do for his children is to love their Mother." That being said what fmj loading does the gun seem to like? 32 acp as a primary only something to take out and shoot once every now and then.
